National American Insurance Company of California, (NAICC) was purchased from the H.F. Ahmanson Insurance Group in 1986. The company was re-capitalized and under new management began writing business in 1987. NAICC and its subsidiaries, Danielson National Insurance Company, Danielson Insurance Company and Valor Insurance Company, are now owned by Covanta Holding Corporation (“Covanta”.) Covanta is a publicly held company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under ticker symbol CVA.
